Grace and beauty abound in this gorgeous Holy Medal cast in Solid Sterling Silver from the original 18th century medal featuring the Madonna on one side and Santa Barbara on the other.   The Madonna pictured is  joyful as she dances with the clouds and the moon.   

Santa Barbara is on the reverse side of this medal.  Santa Barbara is known as one of the Heavenly 14 Helpers Saint Barbara is often portrayed with miniature chains and a tower.  As one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. Barbara continues to be a popular saint in modern times, perhaps best known as the patron saint of armourers, artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives because of her legend's association with lightning.
