Peace and grace abound on our Saint Francis of Assisi Pax et Bonam Bead Chain Necklace. This rare Holy Medal is cast from from the original 18th century Spanish medal featuring the Saint Francis on one side and the Madonna on the other. Saint Francis is shown with a contemplative gaze towards Heaven with a Mori Skull and Cross reminding him of humanity and our mortality. His hand bares the mark of the Stigmata he received after a visit from Saint Michael. A tiny Peaceful Dove accents the medal symbolizing Peace and the Trinity.
St. Francis of Assisi is one of the most beloved saints. Known for living simply, and treating all of God’s creatures from humans to animals to nature with love and respect, St. Francis’ motto was Pax et Bonam or Peace and Goodness. On the reverse side of the medal, the expectant Madonna is joyful as she dances with the clouds and the moon.
The necklace is shown doubled in the main picture, but it can be worn long or shorten with the complimentary exhancer. The medal can also be removed from the decorative clasp that also serves as a charm holder. A tiny Dove of North Star charm adds a final accent to remind us that with Saint Francis and Maryat our side we won't get lost in life and their loving protection is always at hand if we call on them.
•Chain Length: Long 28" long, The Medal is 1.25" x 1.00". It's a very cool and rare medal that is hand cast using the lost wax method by silversmiths based in New England. The original is from the 1700's and was acquired from a monk's collection. It's made of bronze dipped in Sterling Silver plating. Whispering Goddess is handmade in the tiny fishing village of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Made in the USA with LOVE.
