The Virgin of Guadalupe, the mysterious ayate, an image that is venerated by the faithful. Catholic or not, millions of us take refuge under her comforting starry mantle.
One of my most beloved and cherished medals in the collection, the Christo Rey is a rare double sided holy medal that features Saint Michael the Archangel and Our Lady of Guadalupe. The original medal dates back to 1682 when it was cast as a token of gratitude given to patrons who helped build the "Templo Expiatorio a Cristo Rey" - the early basilica in Mexico City created to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.
It's a very special holy medal, the energy is palpable.
