The Sacred Heart Sophia Necklace features four strands of alternating 4mm and 8mm handwrapped Freshwater Pearls. The original medal is from France and is called the the "Sainte Vierge" because the Blessed Mother is on the reverse. The Heart and Dagger represents the Joy of Loving with a wide open heart and the pain that often accompanies it. The intriguing medal also references the Parisian Saint Vincent de Paul as helper and agent of the poor, that we may live with humble and charitable hearts.
On the reverse side is the Immaculate Conception and the prayerful invocation of our Lady's protection. This medal is recast from the vintage original in Bronze with a 22KT Matte Gold overlay. Made in the USA in our sweet studio sanctuary in Wellfleet, MA. Medals are recast for us by artisans based in New England.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Approx. 1.25" round, the medal origin is France. The shortest strand is 16" and the longest is 18". This necklace can be worn as a triple strand or with one strand around the neck and extended.
