History:  The Miraculous Medal, is the design which was directed by The Blessed Virgin Mary herself to Saint Catherine Laboure following a series of visions of Our Lady outside of Paris in 1830.     On 27 November 1830 Catherine reported that the Blessed Mother returned during evening meditations. She displayed herself inside an oval frame, standing upon a globe. She wore many rings set with gems that shone rays of light over the globe. Around the margin of the frame appeared the words Ô Marie, conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous ("O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee"). As Catherine watched, the frame seemed to rotate, showing a circle of twelve stars, a large letter M surmounted by a cross, and Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns and the Immaculate Heart of Mary pierced with a sword. Asked why some of the gems did not shed light, Mary reportedly replied, "Those are the graces for which people forget to ask."

Through her visions with St. Catherine Laboure, Mary promised special graces to those who wear the Miraculous Medal.  It is symbol of peace, wisdom and guidance expressing the loving protection of the Divine Mother in all Her faces and her forms. It serves as a reminder that Her intercession on our behalf for Miracles is only an ask away.  prayer away.  Forgotten Graces Jewelry is handmade and curated by artisans under the creative direction of  Whispering Cowgirl founder Ginny Parker.  All medals are cast in New England where they carry on a tradition of making holy medals that date back to early days of immigration from their ancestors homeland in Italy.
